The Bank of Canada has decided to keep its key interest rate at 2.25%, citing signs of improving economic conditions. According to the Bank, if inflation and economic activity continue to align with its October outlook, the current rate is appropriate to maintain inflation near the 2% target while supporting the economy through ongoing structural adjustments.
Although inflation may appear higher in the short term due to last year’s GST/HST holiday, the Bank says this is temporary. It expects that slower economic growth and excess capacity will help counterbalance cost pressures caused by global trade realignments. As a result, inflation is still projected to remain close to 2% over the medium term.

Happy Halloween!! Wishing you a frightful, delightful Halloween!
Originally a blend of Christian and Pagan traditions, the English practice of “souling” involved dressing up and going door to door asking for soul cakes (small biscuits) in exchange for prayers for the dead in purgatory. In Ireland and Scotland, this evolved into “guising,” where children would wear costumes and offer a song, joke, or poem in return for fruit or a treat.
European immigrants brought these customs to North America — and that’s how our modern trick-or-treating tradition was born.
So with that in mind, I hope you’ve got plenty of candy ready for your trick-or-treaters tonight! May you avoid too many tricks and save a few treats for yourself.

Yes, it’s possible to buy with little or no money down, using the right strategies and programs:

5%–10% Down Payment Assistance through government programs.

Shared equity loan (you pay it back when you sell or refinance).

No interest during ownership.
