📊 GTA REAL ESTATE MARKET UPDATE | MAY 2026

The latest TRREB numbers reveal a market that is becoming more active, but buyers still hold significant negotiating power.

✅ Sales increased 6.3% year-over-year
✅ New listings declined 18.9%
✅ Active inventory dropped 13.3%
✅ Average home prices remain down 4.6%
✅ Homes are taking longer to sell

What does this mean?

While competition is slowly returning, home prices have not fully recovered. Buyers who are prepared and informed still have opportunities to secure great properties and negotiate favorable terms.
