Starting November 3, 2026, LMIA requirements are changing under Express Entry. 🇨🇦

A qualifying job offer will no longer need an LMIA to:

• receive the new Express Entry job-offer CRS points
• meet applicable job-offer requirements under the Federal Skilled Worker Program
• meet applicable job-offer requirements under the Federal Skilled Trades Program

Important: IRCC will still assess whether the job offer is genuine and meets the applicable program requirements.

IRCC has announced a temporary pause in Express Entry invitation rounds while CRS scores are recalculated under the new system taking effect November 3, 2026.

⏳ Recalculation may take up to 2 weeks, with invitation rounds resuming afterwards.

Job offer points are back in Express Entry — under a new system. 🇨🇦

Starting November 3, 2026, IRCC will award additional CRS points for eligible Canadian work experience and qualifying job offers in designated high-wage occupations.

For qualifying job offers:

100 points — occupation median wage at least 2× the national average median wage
70 points — at least 1.5× but less than 2×
50 points — at least 1.3× but less than 1.5×

Important: eligibility is based on the occupation’s NOC and its median wage — not your individual salary.
