Interesting inspection this morning!

It is gratifying when you do an inspection and your client contacts you saying thank you because you identified a defect, called for further evaluation and it turns out the minor dampness/water in the basement is caused by a severe horizontal crack in the masonry block foundation, which could be extremely costly to repair. The owner had a foundation specialist come in and they said it was simple condensation because the furnace was not running. I told my client to get a second opinion, good thing he did. I feel terrible for the owner, but that's our job.
