“The member called us and was quite upset. Her house had burned down and her homeowner’s insurance company was denying the $250,000.00 claim.
Most attorneys would jump at the chance to take that case on a contingency of about $80,000.00 but our firm opted to help her at no additional charge under the included provision of letters and phone calls. Our attorney first contacted the member’s insurance company's attorney to encourage them to pay the claim.
The answer: still denied.
He next wrote a letter to her insurance company, demanding immediate payment, or we would file suit for the $250K, court costs, attorney's fees, and, as provided under state law, three times the damages for bad-faith denial of their client's claim and their outrageous behavior.
The insurance company promptly replied back that they had reconsidered, and would pay the claim‼️
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐤𝐞? The executives of the local branch of the insurance company took the member out to lunch to apologize for the way everything was handled.
How much did this cost the member? Not one cent over her monthly membership fee.”
