I am happy to announce that I have joined Farrow Law, a law practice located in Upper Tantallon, Nova Scotia!

I will be working from Kingston until April 1, when I make the permanent move to Nova Scotia's beautiful South Shore.

I look forward to this new adventure and to working with a great group of talented people!

Time to do our part!

Government of Canada flights of Syrian refugees will begin this week, with flights landing in Toronto on December 10, and Montreal on December 12. The first two flights will use military aircraft, but chartered flights are expected to be used for subsequent flights in December.

The United Way has set up a fund to assist with resettlement of Syrian refugees arriving in Kinsgton as soon as December 1st. Every donation counts.

A great article from the CBC regarding the incoming government's priorities regarding Syrian refugees. Like the people in this article, I also hope they can deliver. We have done it before, and I believe it is possible to do it again.

As a family of Syrian refugees celebrate their first Halloween in Canada, they wonder whether prime minister-designate Justin Trudeau can make good on his promise to bring 25,000 Syrians to Canada by the end of the year.

Congratulations to all of the candidates, and especially to my local MP, Mark Gerretsen, and to Prime Minister Elect, Justin Trudeau!

The election was long, but is a reminder of how lucky we Canadians are to live in a free and democratic society where we can share our opinions and have open discussions about all issues without fear of persecution.
