Don’t mind our dust 💨 We are doing a small reno at our office the week of April 11 - April 23 to create more functional workspaces for our team. During this time we are limiting in office visits and may be a little slower getting to the phone. We look forward to welcoming you to our updated space on the 23rd.

❗️Hot off the presses - the City of Kelowna has voted to eliminate short-term rentals in Kelowna with a few exceptions. They may be creating a few further exceptions for specific buildings, but that is yet to be finalized. This last 24 hours was a blur for most of us. Hopefully everyone evacuated safely and has access to the services they need. Huge thank you to the fire fighters who we could see working all day and all night to save our homes. Truly the bravest people you will ever meet.

Heads up to realtors and mortgage brokers. Remote witnessing of real estate documents is coming to an end. What does this mean? It means clients can still sign away from their lawyer/notary, but it must be in the presence of another witnessing lawyer or notary where they are IN PERSON. This typically comes with added expense to the client and in some cases the mortgage lender will only accept certain witnessing lawyers from their approved list (which limits available witnessing options). I’ll save you our usual fraud speech and just leave it as this - we prefer to see clients in person for signing anyways. You can expect signing of real estate documents anywhere from a week to a few days before the expected closing date.
