The Kelowna Aquatic Club in City Park was the focal point of old Kelowna's summer activities. Not only was it home to the Kelowna International Regatta, but it was also every child's summer hangout. Huge crowds would come out for the four or five days of Regatta, families & friends gathered for the weekly Aquacade shows, children learned how to swim, parents danced to live music in the pavilion, young people had Teen Town dances, and ladies came for high tea on the veranda.
