Despite having nearly 14,000 Express Entry profiles in the non-French category above 500 CRS points and more than 71,000 candidates between 451–500, the federal government has once again issued 5,500 Invitations to Apply under the French-language Express Entry category at 397 — signaling a strong focus on francophone streams over non-French categories.
While we understand that priorities change, this trend is raising serious concerns among highly qualified non-French-speaking candidates — particularly international students who have invested heavily in Canadian education and loans. These talented individuals are critical contributors to Canada’s workforce, and without them, our labour market could face significant challenges.
At Elite Overseas Immigration Services, we believe immigration policy should support a win-win outcome for applicants, employers, and the Canadian economy. When high-scoring candidates remain stuck in the pool despite strong CRS scores, it creates uncertainty for businesses and families alike.
We will be drafting a formal letter to Lena Diab, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, and to other officials outlining these concerns and advocating for a more balanced and inclusive Express Entry approach.
Candidate Guidance:
To improve your chances of receiving an invitation, we strongly advise candidates not to rely on a single category. Instead, explore multiple pathways such as:
• Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP)
• Rural & Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP)
• Other employer-or job-driven or regional categories
Diversifying your strategy increases your chances and provides more options in an unpredictable system.
