June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate Nova Scotians from the two-spirit, le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender and q***r communities and reflect on the important work of activists and advocates who champion and fight for equity, dignity and respect for all.

While much progress has been achieved, there is still much more work to be done. We must protect the rights of all people, and we encourage everyone to stand up in support of their 2SLGBTQ+ family members, friends, colleagues, and neighbours.

Happy Pride!❤️🩷🧡💛💜🩵💙💚💕💞💓💖

June is National Indigenous History Month, and it is a time to learn, reflect, and celebrate the history and the diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis across Canada. It is a reminder to listen to and amplify Indigenous voices, stories and experiences.

It is an opportunity to recognize the strength and resilience of Indigenous communities, their vibrant and distinct cultures, and their beautiful languages. This year marks the 28th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day, recognized annually on June 21, the summer solstice.

This month is also an opportunity to acknowledge and honour the missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQ+ people, family members, friends and survivors and the communities who support them, including their central role in the ongoing fight for justice. It’s also a time to remember the unmarked graves that were uncovered at residential schools in Canada.

Alone, we can do so little, together we can do so much, and together we are stronger.❤️💜❤️🧡❤️💛❤️
