Just a quick update on our end - We took a break from taking new clients and booking consultations since about April so we could catch up and have a more manageable workload going forward. While we are now in a position to open up services to new clients, we will be doing so in a limited fashion so we can continue to maintain the work volume at the manageable level we have now achieved. We are accepting new consultations starting September 8, 2026, for the following types of matters:

✅Limited Scope Retainers - Self-Represented Litigant Assistance
✅Uncontested Family Law Matters - Agreements/ILA
✅Criminal Matters - proceeding by summary conviction.

We will soon be expanding our arbitration practice and hope to be able to offer speedy out-of-court resolutions to your legal matters.

This SUMMER the firm will be closed EVERY Friday (starting with June 19th) so we can catch up on administrative work each week. We will be working, just not answering phones or emails. Not to worry, we can always squeeze in the emergencies and we are offering longer hours for appointments on Thursdays!

We've been going through some changes around here! This firm started as a small remote work-from-home practice that was supposed to give me more time with my children and freedom to practice the way I wanted to! It has grown to the point that we lost sight of those objectives and we have made the decision to scale things back. I now know it is possible spend every waking minute working on legal matters, but we need to find the balance again. It is not about maximizing profits, but enjoying what we do for the long-run! We have decided to return to the OGs only- Holly & I! One lawyer, one paralegal! This means we will be taking on far less work and likely not reopening the practice to new clients until the end of the summer. We would love to be able to help everyone who comes "knocking", but that is not sustainable. Being a responsible lawyer means having self-awareness and knowing your limits and this is the right direction for this firm! -Lianne

We are pausing new client consultations for 6-8 weeks as we complete the work we already have. Pausing the onboarding of new clients is a responsible and important step in maintaining an effective and efficient legal practice. The practice of Family Law can be very unpredictable and just when we think we have a good manage on our time and workload, emergencies and new conflicts arise! We appreciate your understanding!

Fresh off a vacation and feeling good about being a lawyer again! 😅 I have over 250 emails 📩 to read and respond to, so I need a day or two to get back to the regular workflow! Thanks to our clients for their patience and my amazing staff for holding down the fort!

Not to worry - detailed instructions have been left with our assistants to carry on with work on your files! Thank you for your understanding. Vacations are a crucial part of preventing burn-out in the practice of family law!
