Fields Store, Elk Point

As most of you know, the Fields Store in Elk Point is closing as of this Tuesday, June 30, 2026. This store has been an important supplier of general retail merchandise for many years in our community. Fields was the 'go-to' store for almost everything. It is one of our signature stores and we are very sad to see it go. The CEO of Fields has cited "due to ongoing declines in sales and other contributing factors, we have made the difficult decision to proceed with closure."
We would like to thank the Fields organization for their many years of serving the residents of Elk Point and area. We'd also like to thank the staff, present and former, for all the hard work that you have done to ensure the success of the store. It's very much appreciated by all.

Going forward, I would like to assure everyone that Lakeland Realty has been working hard since the beginning of May to secure a new General Retailer for the same location. As we do not have confirmation yet (or assured of confirmation), I cannot divulge any information at this point. However, we will do our very best and do whatever we can to make this location and the Town of Elk Point an attractive place to do business. I can't imagine how this will affect our whole community if we can't secure a similar store. More information will be posted once it becomes available. Thank you! A BIG WELCOME to our newest Elk Point residents!
Please welcome TRACY and SHEKINAH who hail from Ontario and purchased their new home in Elk Point this past week. After making their long trek, they successfully moved into their character dream home on a cold wintry day. However, you wouldn't know it was cold as they had the biggest smiles! The sun was shining bright and the snow in the large spruce trees decorated their property with natural beauty that you just can't buy. These two were so diligent and kind throughout the buying process, I know they will be welcome additions to Elk Point. IN APPRECIATION! Lakeland Realty's FREE ICE CREAM EVENT on Canada Day 2025 in Elk Point! It's been a month since the Elk Point Canada Day Events, but it seems like yesterday. We want to thank everyone that attended our event...without you, this wouldn't be possible. We served 534 ice cream cones and over 300 pop and water were given out. It might have 'rained on the parade' but our 'servers and runners' were super dedicated and worked right through. We want to especially thank our servers, Phyllis Pankiw and Erin Blatkewicz. Phyllis has helped year after year and is so dedicated to this event - Phyllis, you are amazing. Thank you! This is Erin's first year serving, but she just jumped in and she did such a great job. You can tell she's a school teacher - so patient and efficient. Thank you, Erin...you were a lifesaver. To our runners, Grace, Mitchell and Jake. Without you 3 bringing cones, pitchers of hot water, filling the pop cooler and everything in between...this event wouldn't have ran so smoothly. Thank you! Also, a thank you to the Canada Day Committee. We had so much fun!
