Some transactions stay with you for reasons that have very little to do with real estate.

Keisha came to me with a short list of things she really wanted in her new home. The right value. The right location. A pantry. And after everything she had accomplished, a bathroom of her own was very much earned.

We saw homes that were bigger. Homes that checked plenty of boxes.

But then we walked into this one.

It had been meticulously cared for by its previous owners, and you could feel it. There was something about the home that couldn’t be measured in square footage or compared on a feature sheet.

Keisha simply felt like she was home.

And then she did something I will never forget.

She kept the purchase a secret from her two children for an entire month while she prepared their new bedrooms, painting each one in colours chosen especially for them and getting everything ready before they knew a thing.

On the day of the surprise, they thought they were simply stopping at someone’s house to pick something up.

Instead, they walked into their own home.

I was fortunate enough to be sent the video of that moment, and I don’t think I will ever forget watching it.

There was so much more behind this purchase than buying a property. It represented what one determined woman had worked incredibly hard to create for herself and her children.

Keisha, thank you for trusting me to be part of such an important chapter in your family’s story, and for taking the time to share these beautiful words about your experience working with me.

This one will stay with me. ❤️

Monday Market | Edmonton Real Estate
Here’s what happened in Edmonton residential real estate over the past 7 days:

585 new listings ↓
266 pending sales ↑
251 sold ↓

Fewer new listings came to market this week, while pending sales increased significantly from the week before.

Completed sales were slightly lower.

The standout this week is pending activity.

Buyer activity is still very much there, even as fewer new properties came onto the market.

I’ll be tracking these numbers every Monday so you can see how the Edmonton market is moving week by week.

SOLD | CY BECKER 🎉

Under contract in just 3 days and now officially SOLD for 98.8% of list price! 🙌

This seller spent two weeks preparing her home before we brought it to market. She listened to every recommendation and then went above and beyond.

The result? We attracted an offer within three days and negotiated a successful sale.

Preparation matters. Pricing matters. And having a seller who is willing to do the work can make all the difference.

Congratulations to this seller on a fantastic result! 🎉

Could homeownership be closer than you think?

Take a look inside this as-new 2-bedroom condominium in Grovenor, one of Edmonton’s desirable central-west communities.

With approximately $13,000 down, estimated monthly housing costs are around $2,000 including mortgage, condo fees, property taxes and most utilities.*

Instead of paying rent and investing in someone else’s future, consider what it could look like to invest in yourself and build your own equity.

Over the past five years, the incredible number of high-rise rental buildings throughout Edmonton, particularly in and around our central communities has seemed alarming to me.

As a REALTOR®, it has made me wonder what this means for the future of homeownership and whether we're slowly becoming conditioned to accept renting as a permanent way of life.

My parents owned four homes by the time they were thirty years old. Today, many hardworking young Canadians are asking a very different question: "Will I ever own a home at all?"

That question inspired me to write this article because I believe homeownership is about more than housing. It's about stability, equity, opportunity, and building a future.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Why Homeownership Matters More Than Ever My parents owned four homes by the time they were thirty years old. When I tell younger people that today, it almost sounds unbe

Buying a home and buying wisely are not always the same thing.

Over the past 20+ years in Edmonton real estate, I've seen buyers build significant equity simply because they chose the right location. I've also seen buyers struggle to sell properties that looked like good investments on paper but lacked long-term demand.

That's why I believe in smart ownership.

The right property should support both your lifestyle today and your financial goals tomorrow.

In my latest blog, I share some of the lessons I've learned about location, equity building, and making real estate decisions with the future in mind.
