Making the decision to get a divorce is a serious one, and it's essential to take the time to consider all factors before moving forward. Here are some questions you and your spouse should ask each other:

1. Have we tried everything to make our marriage work?
2. Are we both willing to put in the effort to fix our problems?
3. Do we have irreconcilable differences that cannot be resolved?
4. How will a divorce impact our children (if we have them)?
5. Do we have a plan for dividing assets and debts?
6. Are we emotionally and mentally prepared for the challenges of divorce?
7. Have we considered counselling or mediation to help us make this decision?
8. What are our expectations for life after divorce?
9. Have we consulted with a lawyer to understand our legal rights and options?
10. Do we still care for each other and want what's best for each other, even if we decide to divorce?

one day the word 'divorce’ came up. I always figured it came from some root that meant 'divide’. In truth, it comes from 'divertere,' which means ‘to divert.' I believe that. All divorce does is divert you.
