I recently received reasons for judgment on a matter that involved the denial of benefits of an accidental death insurance policy. I acted for the widowed spouse against the insurer, Sun Life.
The Court accepted our position and awarded my client the full proceeds of the insurance policy in the amount of $400,000.00 as well as costs. In reaching this conclusion, the Court relied on our expert, Dr Matthew Orde - Forensic Pathologist, who provided invaluable insight on the unusual facts of this case.
