To any individuals who are going through a separation and/or divorce, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will discuss how the court process works and how you can get started. I do not charge for telephone consultations and am happy to talk to anyone who has questions about how to commence the process.

Further, I also offer estate planning services (preparation of a Will, Enduring Power of Attorney and Personal Directive) for a cost effective price. I can prepare all three documents (which I strongly recommend) or I can simply prepare your Will. Contact me if you have any questions.

***Divorce Information***

With divorces that have reasonable amicability amongst both parties, there are a couple ways for you to proceed – uncontested divorce and joint divorce.

Uncontested divorces occur where you and your spouse agree to all family disputes in your divorce proceeding. This includes the grounds for marriage breakdown, where the children will live, visitation rights with the other spouse, support for the children and yourself if required, and the division of the property you acquired during your marriage. You and your spouse need not appear in Court if you continue to agree throughout the process. Any disagreement over these particular family matters will result in a contested divorce.

A joint divorce is the most friendly divorce and amicable divorce possible. It is different than an Uncontested Divorce, which is when one party files and the other party signs off on what has been agreed to, with little or no conflict involved. In a joint divorce there is not a party who “files for divorce” against the other. Simply put, in a joint divorce all of the documents are completed and executed by both parties. This is definitely the way to go where there is minimal conflict.

A joint divorce is definitely the way to proceed as it is quicker and more cost effective if you are able to take this route.

I am able to assist you with the entire process from start to finish. I prepare all the court documents, meet for signing and deal with the court for filing, etc. The only thing you are responsible for is providing me with the information and documents I would need to move forward on your behalf.
