We are looking for a legal assistant to join our dynamic team of litigators in our Carleton Place office!

The successful candidate will perform full administrative tasks including but not limited to:

✅managing client calls/emails, cold calls and conflict checks;
✅Preparing court documents and correspondences;
✅Liaising between the legal professionals and various internal and external individuals and clients.
✅Managing the assigned lawyer’s calendar, including travel arrangements.
✅Preparing accounts

Howard Kelford & DuBois LLP is in search of a real estate clerk to immediately join the team in our Smiths Falls Office. Legal education and experience in a legal setting are preferred, but relevant transferrable experience will certainly be considered.
The ideal candidate will be able to:
- Learn new tasks and adapt to new technology in an evolving workplace
- Carry a file from beginning to end with minimal supervision
- Coordinate workflow and assist the lawyer responsible for the file in prioritizing and following up on outstanding items
- Input data and prepare correspondence and precedent-based documents, with careful attention to detail
- Communicate efficiently and courteously with clients, municipal offices, banks and other parties, both on the phone and in writing
We offer a benefit plan (premiums shared between employee and employer), competitive salary and a cooperative and relaxed working environment. This is a full-time position, and the candidate will be expected to work on-site in our Smiths Falls office. Salary will be set based on experience.
