What would happen to your children and your business if something happened to you tomorrow?

Many people assume their family already knows what they want or that everything will automatically work itself out. But without a valid will and proper planning, important decisions about your children, your estate and your business may be left to others.

Join me live for What Happens to Your Children and Business if You Die Without a Will?

I’ll discuss what dying without a will can mean, why documenting your wishes about guardianship matters and what to consider when choosing the person who will manage your estate.

I’ll also talk about business continuity, what could happen to your ownership interest and why your will, corporate documents and succession planning should work together.

If you have children, own a business or have assets in more than one country, do not assume your family will automatically know what to do.

Shipping your belongings to Canada too early can lead to customs delays and storage fees.

Many people spend months preparing their work permit, business immigration plan or relocation strategy, then realise too late that their household goods also need to be timed properly.

If your shipment arrives before you do, or before your immigration documents are in place, your belongings may sit in customs. That can create extra costs and delays at the exact moment you are trying to settle into Canada.

Before you ship anything, make sure your moving company understands your immigration timeline and that your paperwork is ready for the border.

Relocation works best when your immigration documents, travel date, moving company and household goods are planned together.

If you are relocating to Canada for work or business, contact Ackah Law before you travel so the details are clear before your belongings are on the way.

Could your company pass an LMIA employer compliance inspection today?

Receiving a positive LMIA does not mean an employer’s responsibilities are finished. Service Canada can inspect employers to confirm that the wages, job duties, working conditions and records still match what was approved.

Join me live for What Happens During an LMIA Employer Compliance Inspection?
I’ll discuss why employers may be selected for inspection, what Service Canada can review and the documents employers should be prepared to provide.

I’ll also explain how changes to wages, hours, job duties or work locations can create compliance concerns and what can happen when an employer is found non-compliant.

Before an inspection notice arrives, make sure your LMIA files, payroll records and employment practices are in order.
