Planning ahead doesn’t have to feel overwhelming and it definitely doesn’t have to be complicated. However, it is important to know the basics to make sure you have the right documents in place.
Power of Attorney:
Gives someone you trust the legal authority to manage your finances and legal matters if you’re unable to do so.
Personal Directive (also called a Health Care Directive):
Names some to speak on your behalf regarding medical care and personal decisions if you are unable to do so.

The good news?
Setting these up is often easier than people expect - the process is typically more empowering than intimidating.
