🎄2024 CHRISTMAS HOURS 🎄

So that our lawyers and staff may spend the holidays with their loved ones, our office will be CLOSED from the end of day Friday, December 20th, 2024 until regular hours resume at 9:00am Monday, January 6th, 2025.

The Land Titles Office, as well as many banks, lenders, municipalities and other law firms, will also be closed over the holidays. We STRONGLY advise against scheduling any real estate transactions to close after December 19th or prior to January 8th as there may be many factors that delay the transaction.

All the best to our clients and colleagues this holiday season! 🎅

The Land Titles Registration Levy was announced in Budget 2024 comes into effect for submissions received by October 20, 2024. Submissions received on or after October 20 will be subject to the new levy.

For transfers of land and mortgage registrations, the $50 flat fee will remain unchanged. The variable fee has been replaced with the levy.

For transfers of land, the variable fee will increase from $2 per $5,000 in property value to $5 per $5,000 and becomes the levy.
For mortgage registrations and caveats that charge the land, the variable charge will increase from $1.50 per $5,000 of mortgage value to $5 per $5,000 and becomes the levy.

2023 CINDY GARANT MEMORIAL GAME

In 2011 Cindy Garant passed away from cancer. She was many amazing things in life, among them a dedicated and passionate contributor to our lacrosse community. Her legacy lives on today (the RMLL South Tier II division is named for her) and regional major lacrosse teams (originally the Senior C Pioneers and more recently the Junior B Tier I Barracudas) have held an annual game / event in her honour to fundraise for cancer research.

This year the 10th Annual Cindy Garant Memorial Game will be played between teams from the Division that bears her name: Southern Alberta Chaos hosts the Calgary Wranglers at 5:30pm on July 15th at the Coaldale Sportsplex. Please join us!

* Weather looks wonderful--come early and bring a lawnchair to the $5 tailgater BBQ from 3-6 *
