OTT Legal Burlington is a traffic ticket defence paralegal firm. We pride ourselves on providing professional paralegal services with the highest level of ethics and integrity.
We are looking for a licensed paralegal to fulfill aspects associated with a defence Paralegal's role. This position is a full-time permanent position with our office. This role requires someone to execute all administrative duties in addition to court appearances. This role requires strong communication and customer service skills to manage day-to-day operations. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
*Understanding of POA/HTA offences
*Understanding of Commissioner of Oaths and Notary Public Role
*Receiving and directing client emails and walk-in inquiries
*Ability to provide consultations to prospective clients is an asset
*Manage emails and correspondence to clients, prosecutors and other licensees/firms
*Strong attention to detail
*Opening/Closing client files
*Document management & system filing maintenance required
*Knowledge of Clio Manage Practice Management Software and Lawmatics CRM is an asset
*Support senior Paralegal staff
*Must be well organized
*Attend court as required (In Person or Electronically via Zoom)
*Ability to work at a desk and computer for prolonged periods
*Be able to work in a high-volume and fast-paced environment
*Work well under pressure to meet deadlines
*Work well independently as well as in a team
*Second language is an asset
* Diarizing court dates, disclosure requests and other time-sensitive tasks
*Sending clients/other licensees final disposition letters and statements of account
*Being able to prepare court paperwork required (including, but not limited to: Motions, Applications for Extension, Re-openings, Appeals, Transcript Request) is an asset.
*Must be willing to learn
*Other duties as assigned
*Notary Public

Salary range Annual $40-$60K. Compensation is based on experience.
Both Paralegal Annual Law Society Licencing Fees and E&O Insurance coverage is paid for by OTT Legal Services Burlington.
