Ontario has introduced key changes to its immigration regulations effective May 30, 2025.
These updates give the province more flexibility in how it selects candidates and manages applications under the OINP.
The changes include more targeted selection based on labour market needs, stronger control over application processing, and the ability to return applications before nomination decisions are made.
The important part: existing applications are not affected. However, future selections may become more focused on candidates who match Ontario’s workforce and economic priorities.
