Canada’s immigration strategy is shifting. 🇨🇦
The focus is increasingly moving toward people who are already living, working and building experience in Canada.
Canada is reducing targets for new temporary-resident arrivals while maintaining permanent-residence admissions and using more targeted selection based on economic and labour-market needs.
That can make factors like your occupation, Canadian work experience, language skills and where you live and work** increasingly important. But this does NOT mean everyone already in Canada now has an easier path to PR.
The real shift is toward more targeted immigration—selecting candidates Canada believes best fit its current needs.
