Due to the overwhelming demand for tax preparation services again this season Sheppard Financial Services would like to advise it's clients that in order to guarantee respecting the April 30 filing deadline documents need to be brought to the office (or emailed to us) no later than Wednesday, April 8th. I will certainly continue to receive documents after that date but I will not be able to guaranteee completion before the deadline. It is worthwhile noting that if you do not have taxes to remit then the date is not overly important. And if you have self employment income the deadline is June 15th. No penalty is imposed for slightly late returns if they involve refunds. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your business again this year!

Tax Season is only 3 weeks away. Efiling will start as of February 23 and we will be taking appointments as of February 19 (depending on tax software finalization). Like last season appointment slots will be available 7 days a week up to April 30 (9AM to 8PM). Hope you all had a great year and we are looking forward to serving you again this season!

Sheppard Financial Services would like to advise it's clients that, due to the overwhelming demand for tax services again this year, any files received after Monday April 7th will not be guaranteed a completion date of April 30th. For clients that have a refund this is not important but for those who have to pay there will be a penalty after this date (unless they have self employment income, in that case the filing deadline is June 15th). We thank you for your business again this year!

Tax Season is a little more than a month away. Efiling will start as of February 19 and I will be taking appointments as of February 17. Like last season appointment slots will be available 7 days a week up to April 30. Tuesdays and Wednesdays only from 5PM until 9PM. All other days 9AM to 9PM. Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I am looking forward to serving you this season!

With tax season fast approaching it is worth noting that the $1200 travel deduction for individuals living in regions where the northern residents deduction applies is available again this year. If you wish to avail of this credit please have your proof of travel included in your documents when you come for your appointment. You can use up to 2 trips to maximize the $1200 deduction. In can either be an airline ticket if you flew or some other proof of travel if you drove. Any trip outside of the region is deductible as long as you were not reimbursed for the expenses. For families it is $1200 per individual in the household. Not having the proof included will delay the preparation of your return.

Tax Season is a little more than a month away. Efiling will start as of February 21 and I will be taking appointments as of February 18. Appointment slots will be available 7 days a week up to April 30. Tuesdays and Wednesdays only from 5PM until 9PM. All other days 9AM to 9PM. With René Harnois no longer providing the service it is expected to be a busy season but I will do my best to accomodate all who are interested.
