🐾 TODAY, WE STAND FOR MISSIE.⚖️❤️

Today, we attend the Animal Care Review Board to advocate for Missie — a beautiful rescue Rez dog who spent her days surrounded by love, family, and the peaceful beauty of a farm in Northern Ontario. 🌲🐕❤️

Sadly, Missie became another devastating example of what can happen when an animal falls through the cracks of a system that is supposed to protect them.

A member of a loving family was left to learn the unimaginable — that Missie had been euthanized. 💔

No family should ever have to receive news like that without answers.

No animal should lose their life without proper care, consideration, investigation, and due process.

And today, we are here to ask the hard questions.

⚖️ Who spoke for Missie when she could no longer speak for herself?

⚖️ Was every reasonable step taken to protect her?

⚖️ Were the facts properly investigated?

⚖️ And who is held accountable when the system fails?

These cases are hard.

They take a piece of your soul. 💔

But they also empower us to stand taller, speak louder, and fight harder.

Because we remember Missie. 🐾

We remember her beauty.
We remember her love.
We remember her kindness.
We remember the life she deserved to keep living. ❤️

And we will fight — for Missie and for every animal whose voice is lost when the system gets it wrong.

Every creature has a place.
Every creature has a purpose.
Every life has value. 🐾❤️

Missie mattered.
Missie was loved.
Missie will not be forgotten.

Today, we stand for her.
Today, we demand accountability.
Today, we seek justice. ⚖️

🚨 **BREAKING NEWS!** 🚨

Contrary to popular belief...we **do** occasionally leave the office. 😱⚖️

After surviving countless deadlines, impossible timelines, ringing phones, mountains of paperwork, and approximately 7,492 "just a quick question..." calls... 😅

🏖️ Bent Law Legal Services is taking a collective week off!**

Why? Because our brains have officially filed for vacation. 🧠✈️

We're off to:
😴 Catch up on sleep.
☕ Drink coffee that's actually hot.
🌿 Locate our missing sanity.
🔋 Recharge our batteries.
😂 Remember what it's like to finish a meal without answering the phone.

📅 The office will reopen on August 10th.

☎️ Calls and voicemails will be returned once we've remembered our passwords and how to be responsible adults again. 😉

📧 Emails will be checked intermittently while we're away, but not consistently during this time.

🚨 If you have a REAL emergency (and we mean real - not "my neighbour looked at me funny" 🤨😂), please put **EMERGENCY** in the subject line so we know it's urgent.

📝 Need to open a new file? Send us a summary at [email protected] and we'll happily get back to you after we've successfully reintroduced ourselves to relaxation, or whenever the boss is feeling the email bug at weird hours.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we take a much-needed break to recharge. ❤️

We'll be back August 10th, caffeinated, refreshed, slightly tanned (hopefully 😎), and ready to jump back into fighting for our clients.

Due to the extreme conditions of the forest fires and poor air quality our team is closing the office in Barrie today.
