Parents and Grandparents Program intake opens in late July

🚨 Important Changes to Open Work Permits for Family Members 🚨

Starting January 21, 2025, new rules will apply to family Open Work Permits (OWPs):

🔹 Eligible Spouses:
International Students enrolled in:

Master’s programs (16+ months)
Doctoral programs
Select professional/eligible programs
Foreign Workers in:

TEER 0 or 1 occupations
Select TEER 2 or 3 jobs in high-demand sectors (e.g., construction, healthcare, education, etc.).

🔹 Key Changes:
-Foreign workers must have 16+ months remaining on their work permit.
-Dependent children of foreign workers are no longer eligible for family OWPs.

💡 If you’re not eligible for this Open Work Permit, you may qualify for another type of work permit.
