I have just back from an excellent meeting Law Schools Global League meeting at Jindal Global Law School (JGLS)
The 4-day LSGL Deans’ Meeting and Academic Conference, focused on “Law and the Digital Future: Reimagining Global Legal Education,” gathered 40 deans and senior colleagues from 24 leading law schools around the world. Our discussions addressed global legal education in a context of heightened geopolitical tensions, student recruitment and collaboration, and the ongoing expansion of the global legal profession. The program also included thoughtful analysis and new research on artificial intelligence and its implications for legal education.
Sharing perspectives and best practices — grounded in research and strengthened by long-standing partnerships — is always energizing and crucial for ensuring our institutions continue to evolve and succeed.
It was a pleasure to represent FGV Direito SP, a proud co-founding member of the League, and to collaborate with such an impressive community of deans, administrators, and faculty.
Many thanks to our dear friends Raj Kumar, Vesselin Popovski, Dipika Jain, and the entire Jindal team for their warm and generous hospitality. Congratulations as well to LSGL Co-Presidents Soledad Atienza Becerril and Eleonora Lozano Rodríguez, and to League Secretary Esra Özcan, for organizing such a productive and engaging meeting — and to all the participants who continue to make our League such a vibrant and dynamic institution.

One of our proud moments! A wonderful gathering of students from LSGL member schools across the world. The 9th LSGL Summer School has just started this week, offering students unique short courses and exclusive sessions by UNIDROIT and UNCTAD. Huge thanks to our host, NUS Law for organising!

The LSGL Presidency is pleased to open nominations for the Law Schools Global League 9th Summer School!

Organised by the LSGL Presidency and the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law, this year’s Summer School will be held online from 12 – 16 July 2021 and features unique courses and exclusive sharing sessions by representatives from UNCTAD and UNIDROIT.

Each LSGL member institution may nominate up to 10 student participants. Students must have completed at least one year of law education to qualify. Additional selection criteria and the process of selection will be at the discretion of the home institution. Participation at the Summer School 2021 is free of charge.

Four mini-modules will be offered this year:
1. Access to Medicines: The Role of Patent Law and Regulatory Rights in Dealing with Pandemics
2. Law and Technology: What Is the Impact of Emerging Technologies on the Law?
3. Legal Cosmopolitanism and Diversity
4. Human Trafficking, Globalisation and the Covid-19 Pandemic: Complexities, Lessons and Future Challenges

Student nominations from institutions should be submitted to LSGL by 16 June 2021. Interested students should contact their home institution’s Student Affairs office to register their interest, indicating which modules they wish to attend.
