Licks Attorneys represents IP Bridge in a dispute against Skyworth before the Rio de Janeiro State Court of Appeals involving patents essential to the H.264/AVC standard. In a recent expert report, the court-appointed expert concluded that patent BR0303566 is valid, essential to the H.264/AVC standard, and infringed by television sets and receivers compliant with that standard. The report found a literal correspondence between the patent claims and the CAVLC algorithm specified in the standard and further noted that issues relating to FRAND commitments are to be determined by the Court.
