Working remotely for companies or clients abroad while living in Brazil is a real possibility for those who qualify for the digital nomad visa, designed for foreign nationals whose source of income remains outside the country.

Prove a minimum monthly income of US$1,500.00 or an available bank balance of at least US$18,000.00.

Valid health insurance coverage in Brazil is also required for the entire length of stay.

Validity

The authorization is granted for up to 1 year, renewable.

Worth Knowing

This visa category involves more than meets the eye, and understanding the correct framework properly makes all the difference before filing the application. My team is ready to answer your questions and guide you through every step of the process

I'm Retired and Want to Live in Brazil: How Does It Work?

More and more Europeans and Americans are choosing Brazil for retirement, drawn by the climate and the cost of living. To make this possible, Brazil offers a specific residence authorization for those who are already retired or receiving survivor's pension benefits abroad.

Who Qualifies

Be retired or a beneficiary of survivor's pension benefits; and
Prove a minimum monthly income of US$2,000.00, transferred regularly to Brazil.
This amount may be supplemented by other regular sources of income, such as financial investments or rental income from real estate.

Validity

The authorization is valid for 2 years, renewable, and may later be converted into permanent residence.

Worth Knowing

It's a path few people know about, yet it follows its own procedure that calls for careful attention to documentation. The most sensitive part is usually proving income — and that's exactly where legal guidance makes the difference. My team is ready to answer your questions and guide you through every step of the process.

A pathway to live in Brazil with your family through an investment of approximately USD 30,000?

Yes, this possibility exists.
Brazil offers a residence pathway for foreign investors who wish to invest in innovative businesses, technology projects, startups, scientific research, or technological development activities.
With an investment starting at BRL 150,000 (approximately USD 30,000, depending on the exchange rate), qualified foreign investors may apply for a residence authorization in Brazil, provided that all legal requirements are properly fulfilled.
The investment may involve establishing a new company in Brazil or joining an existing Brazilian company, as long as the business activity meets the legal requirements related to innovation, technology, research, or development.
This type of residence is not simply about bringing capital into Brazil. It is designed to encourage investments that contribute to the country’s economic, scientific, and technological development.
For foreign families, this can represent much more than a business opportunity. It can be the beginning of a new life project:
✅ Live legally in Brazil;
✅ Include eligible family members as dependents;
✅ Participate in a Brazilian business venture;
✅ Build a future in a country known for its natural beauty, quality of life, and opportunities.
However, it is important to understand that the investment amount alone does not guarantee approval. The structure of the investment, the company’s activities, the source of funds, and a well-prepared business plan are essential elements in the legal evaluation of the application.
A successful immigration process does not begin with paperwork — it begins with the right strategy.
I assist foreign investors and families with the legal preparation of their residence process in Brazil, from evaluating the most suitable immigration pathway and structuring the necessary documentation to providing guidance throughout the entire procedure.
If you would like to understand whether investing in Brazil is the right option for your personal situation, I would be pleased to provide an individual legal consultation.
🇧🇷 Your new life in Brazil begins with a secure and well-planned decision.

NACH BRASILIEN AUSWANDERN – ABER WIE?
Wussten Sie schon?

Heute leben in Brasilien Millionen Menschen deutscher Abstammung.

Brazilian Visa & Immigration Law: Security, Trust, and Peace of Mind

Most clients research lawyers online before hiring legal services. When applying for a Brazilian visa, residency, or immigration status from abroad, verifying a lawyer’s credentials and professional standing is essential.

In Brazil, the practice of law is regulated by the Brazilian Bar Association (Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil – OAB). Lawyers must maintain active registration and comply with strict professional and ethical standards, including diligence, responsibility, confidentiality, and professional integrity.

Before hiring a lawyer, clients should:

* Verify the lawyer’s full name and OAB registration number through the National Registry of Lawyers (CNA) on the official OAB website;
* Confirm the lawyer’s professional contact information and website;
* Research professional references and publicly available information;
* Request clear information about services, fees, and the visa or immigration process;
* Formalize the engagement through a written legal services agreement.

Transparency, professional integrity, and qualified legal representation are the foundation of trust and peace of mind when entrusting your Brazilian visa or immigration matter to a lawyer.

If you are considering applying for a Brazilian visa or residency, you may schedule a consultation with our team to discuss your situation, understand your options, and receive personalized legal guidance.

CAN A CHILD HAVE MORE THAN ONE LEGAL FATHER OR MOTHER IN BRAZIL?
Yes. Under Brazilian law, a child — or even an adult — may have more than one legally recognized father or mother.

This can happen when someone other than a biological parent has genuinely taken on the role of a parent, creating a strong and lasting parent-child relationship.

For example, a stepparent who has raised, cared for, and acted as a true parent to their partner’s child may, depending on the circumstances, seek legal recognition as an additional parent.

The biological parents do not necessarily have to be removed from the birth certificate. In some cases, another parent may be legally added, creating what Brazilian law recognizes as multiple legal parentage.

This recognition can have important legal consequences, including inheritance rights, child support obligations, and other parental rights and responsibilities.

Depending on the circumstances, recognition may be voluntary or obtained through court proceedings.

Every family situation is unique. If you would like to understand how Brazilian family law applies to your case, contact our team for legal guidance.

Dating Agreements in Brazil: Why You Need One

Many foreigners are surprised to learn that under Brazilian law, a stable, public relationship entered into with the intent of building a life together can be legally treated the same as marriage — with the same consequences for property division, spousal support, and inheritance rights.

When a relationship ends, disagreements over rights and obligations are common, and these disputes often end up in court. The best way to avoid future litigation is to plan ahead: a well-drafted dating agreement (contrato de namoro) clearly defines the nature of the relationship and protects both partners' assets from the outset.

Know your rights before they're decided for you. Our team is ready to help you put the right agreement in place.
