The BitHope Foundation's goal is to introduce bitcoin to the non-profit sector and demonstrate that Bitcoin technology can disrupt the charity sector.

The BitHope Foundation is the first non-profit organization (NPO) in the public benefit in Bulgaria, registered according to Art. 33 of the Law on Nonprofit Legal Entities (LNLE), that accepts ONLY cryptocurrencies to fund the initiatives that are hosted on the BitHope.org website. The primary goals of the Foundation, according to its Founding Act, are:

1) To support and promote the development o

f international donation activity through the use of decentralized store of value technologies;

2) To promote the public image of decentralized store of value technologies;

3) To be engaged in social activities by supporting citizens and initiatives in need of funding. We are a fully transparent NPO and are subject to the reporting obligations, included in Article 46 of the LNLE. In accordance with Art. 45 (3) of the same Law, the Foundation is included in the Central Register of Nonprofit Legal Entities in the Public Benefit of Bulgaria. In addition, in compliance with Article 3 (2) of the Law on Measures against Money Laundering, the BitHope Foundation has developed and applies Internal Rules, approved by the State Agency for National Security, with the aim to prevent possible laundering of illegally acquired assets. The BitHope Foundation is also an administrator of personal data, registered with the Commission for Personal Data Protection. The BitHope Foundation works with established non-profit organizations that have demonstrated their professionalism and integrity. Our primary partner in the process of selecting campaigns is the Bulgarian Center for Not-for-Profit Law (BCNL). In 2010 BCNL founded the Bulgarian NPOs Information Portal (ngobg.info), which is currently the most popular NPO dedicated website, hosting the largest and most detailed NPO database in Bulgaria.

In February 2026, BitHope Foundation submitted a plan to the Bulgarian Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) for removal from the register of entities providing crypto-asset services.

After June 30, 2026, the foundation will no longer organize or manage Bitcoin-funded charitable campaigns on behalf of third parties.

The "Free Ross" campaign on Bithope.org was one of the first ones supported by the Bithope Foundation. The wallet address is the official one of Ross' family campaign. We have had no access to any of the funds, just wanted to raise awareness.

We are thrilled to announce that Bithope's Founder and Director signed a Memorandum of Collaboration with the largest university in Bulgaria - UNWE. We will collaborate on UNWE's unique Master's program that is currently being developed by the Economics Department and is focused on crypto economics.
