Student Visa for Sweden:
Key Information for Autumn 2025 Intake (September):
Application Period: Starts October 15, 2024, and ends January 15, 2025.
Requirements and Notes for Applying to Study in Sweden:
1. IELTS Requirement:
Bachelorâs: Overall 6.5 (no band less than 5.5).
Masterâs: Overall 6.5 (no band less than 5.5).
2. Recommendation Letters: 2 required.
3. Academic Documents: Transcripts and certificates must be uploaded on the application portal and sent via DHL.
4. Application Fee: 900 SEK (Swedish Krona).
5. Program Applications: You can apply for up to 4 programs through the centralized system.
6. Admission Flexibility: Admissions are possible regardless of study gap.
7. Scholarships:
Swedish Institute (SI) scholarships and university-specific scholarships are available. Applications for these open after receiving an offer letter but are highly competitive.
8. Tuition Fees:
Masterâs (2-year program): Approximately 20 lakh BDT.
Bachelorâs (3-year program): Approximately 30â40 lakh BDT.
Tuition for one semester (5â7 lakh BDT) must be paid before the visa process.
9. Bank Statement:
Minimum 15 lakh BDT required.
No maturity needed for running accounts. For new accounts, a maturity of 2â3 months is recommended.
10. Visa Success Rate: Approximately 95%.
11. Spouse and Work Rights:
Both Bachelorâs and Masterâs students can bring their spouse.
Students and spouses have unlimited work rights.
12. Embassy: Sweden has an embassy in Bangladesh, so travel to India for visa processing is unnecessary.
13. Post-Graduation:
Graduates can apply for a 1-year job-seeking visa by showing proof of funds for accommodation and food for one year.
14. Work Permit:
Current minimum salary requirement: 28,500 SEK.
From next year, this will increase to 32,000 SEK.
