A confession isn’t automatically considered reliable. Courts evaluate several factors to decide whether it should be trusted and admitted as evidence, including whether it was made freely, voluntarily, and without coercion, threat, inducement, or improper pressure. They may also consider the circumstances of the statement, the mental and physical condition of the accused, access to legal counsel, and whether the confession is supported by other evidence.

Confessional statement becomes a flimsy piece of proof when a retraction of confessional statement is substantiated. Retraction of confession makes the statement ( giving during confession ) suspicious. It lost it 's truthfulness based on voluntariness and Coercionless because of the application of retraction of confession which hurts the credibility of confessional statement as evidence to pass conviction on reliance as alone evidence without corroboration.
