For the past month, Barrister Wolora Afrin has been tirelessly advocating for the release of 57 Bangladeshi migrant workers who were detained in the UAE on allegations of participating in illegal protests. Initially, the workers lacked formal legal representation, prompting Barrister Afrin to take up their cause, striving to safeguard their legal rights. Her efforts were focused on reducing their sentences or securing Presidential Pardons. Through extensive negotiations and collaboration with the governments of both the People's Republic of Bangladesh and the UAE, her persistent advocacy ultimately led to the granting of Presidential Pardons for all 57 workers, resulting in their release from prison.
