Pre-arrival Settlement Services Program
Highlights from the announcement of Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship

The government of Canada has approved $113 million towards an improved Pre-arrival Settlement Services Program for newcomers, through to the year 2023.
The objective of this program is to assist newcomers in overcoming barriers and initial hurdles to settlement and integration before they practically arrive in Canada. It provides newcomers with vital information and supports while they are still abroad, so that they have realistic expectations of their new life in Canada.
An assessment of the Pre-arrival Services Program reveals that participants are gaining valuable knowledge of life in Canada and the job market at a higher rate than those who have not used those services. For all these reasons, the government places great importance on providing newcomers with the settlement support services they need before they arrive.

The most common question, now a days, I encounter, is whether we can arrange work permit visa or job offer for Bangladeshi nationals. My reply is a big NO, we don't. The reason is simple. There is no such things available for Bangladeshi workers, Period. Why ? #1 Canada already has a pool of foreign workers inland who are prioritized for any vacancies #2 US and Mexican workers have better access to Canadian job market because of NAFTA #3 Due to the very nature of the job requirements, most of the vacancies are needed to be filled up shortly. As a result, workers from visa exempt countries are fast to respond to the employers. During last few years we could do only a very few work permit visas for highly skilled IT professionals.
