We are pleased to share that our Managing Partner, Mr. Syed Afzal Hasan Uddin, was invited to moderate the panel discussion on “Reforming the Arbitration Act 2001: The Enforcement” at the BIAC–UNDP programme titled “Strengthening Bangladesh’s Commercial Justice System: Commercial Courts Act 2026 and Reform of the Arbitration Act 2001”, held on 21 May 2026 at Hotel InterContinental, Dhaka.
The programme was graced by the presence of Mr. Md. Asaduzzaman, MP, Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, as Chief Guest, and brought together distinguished members of the judiciary, policymakers, practitioners, arbitrators, business leaders and development partners.
The panel focused on a practical and important question: how can arbitration in Bangladesh be made more effective through timely, predictable and commercially meaningful enforcement of arbitral awards?
We thank BIAC and UNDP Bangladesh for organising this important discussion and for creating a platform for dialogue on arbitration reform and commercial justice in Bangladesh.
