Introducing Jennifer Jackson.

Jennifer has recently joined our firm to assist us while Fiona Fagan is on Maternity Leave.

After a lengthy career in general practice and government law, Jennifer now practises exclusively in the field of Wills and Estates. She is a member of STEP (Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners) and served on that Society’s NSW Branch Committee for several years. She is a member of the NSW Law Society and the City of Sydney Law Society.

Jennifer is admitted to practise in the Supreme Courts of the ACT and NSW, the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia. She has been appointed as a Notary Public in NSW and can provide these services including the witnessing of international documents to clients of Hozack Clisdell Lawyers.

We wish Fiona well during her time on Maternity Leave.

Your Will is not a set and forget document as many people might believe.
Any time there is a change in your family circumstances, you should be reviewing and updating your will. These could include Divorce, marriage, new relationship, children, incapacity of an executor or beneficiary, change to assets and change in name. We recommend checking in every 3 years or when your personal circumstances change to ensure your will is up to date. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR YOU?
The benefit is that property ownership is now recorded electronically and you won’t be required to pay hundreds of dollars to replace your Title Deed if it is misplaced. The critical thing is that your identity links you to the property.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you have a mortgage or transfer document for a property that was signed but not registered at the Land Titles Office or if you are holding someone’s Title Deed as security for a loan, your interest and security in the property may be compromised. If you believe you are affected by this change, we recommend that you contact Hozack Clisdell Lawyers and Conveyancers to discuss your options.

From 1 July 2022, after 35 years of practice, John Hozack will be retiring and his son Jonathon Hozack together with Fiona Fagan will be purchasing the business.

For all clients of Hozack Clisdell Lawyers your documents, files and safe custody documents will be transferred to Jonathon and Fiona’s new entity known as Hozack Lawyers Pty Ltd (ACN 658 736 166) which continue to operate the business of Hozack Clisdell Lawyers. If you do not consent to your documents transferring to this new business entity, please advise us as soon as possible so that we can make appropriate arrangements to transfer any such documents or files to your nominated legal representative.

It is ‘business as usual’ at Hozack Clisdell Lawyers, the business will not be moving and is still located above IMB Bank at 89 Princess Highway Ulladulla.
