We also offer a collaborative based process which allows client's to have control of the process, instead of the process being in control of them. This entails settlements being sought by way of round table meeting

s instead of going to court. The collaborative based skills are used to ensure that the best outcome for the client is achieved through such things as picking up the phone and talking about the matter, instead of sending endless letters back and forth. We offer fixed fees, which give the client certainty about the costs. We provide realistic and commercial advice, which result in more of an understanding of the Family Law process on the client's behalf, and which in our experience can lead to an early and cost effective settlement.

Having started with us in 2015, Tarryn has since left, travelled around Australia, had a baby, come back, had another baby and is now the controller of all things finance.
Tarryn is the engine of klplegal. making sure the finances are on track, helping clients navigate through the processes and also making sure Kate does what she is meant to do! One might say Tarryn has the hardest job in the firm!

Having started with us only three months after the creation of the firm back in 2012 - Hayley is a special and integral part of our team.

Working closely with Kate, Hayley’s knowledge of the administrative side of our legal work is outstanding. This, combined with her authentic and welcoming nature means you instantly feel at ease in what naturally feels like a daunting path ahead.

Kate’s refreshing approach to the law with her no ‘BS’ or legal jargon has seen her become best known as Kate Pateman: The Practical Lawyer.
