📅 SUBCLASS 189 INVITATION ROUND
The next round is scheduled for 15 October 2026. Check your EOI points, English test, skills assessment and contact details.

⚙️ SUBCLASS 407 SYSTEM ERROR
Some family subsequent entrant applications face a sponsorship or nomination verification error. A fix was scheduled for 10 October. If affected, try lodging after that date. Seek urgent assistance if your visa is expiring.

🎓 STUDENT VISA CHANGES
New rules from 2 October restrict onshore applications and including family members, with limited exemptions. Applications lodged before that date follow the earlier rules.

⚠️ INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS PUT ON NOTICE
Non-genuine study arrangements may put current and future visa applications at risk. Be cautious about pressure to start another course before completing your existing studies.

📩 Formal letters of concern have been sent to education providers. The student warning is a public announcement.

📢 STUDENT VISA RULES HAVE CHANGED

From 2 October 2026, new rules affect where you can apply for a Student visa and whether your family can be included.

Here’s what you need to check:

✈️ Many temporary visa holders must apply offshore. Where offshore lodgement is required, you must also be offshore when your Student visa is granted.

🎓 Current main Student visa holders need an exemption to apply again in Australia. Course completion, study progression, doctoral enrolment and provider default each have specific conditions.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Applying offshore does not automatically allow you to include family. A family exemption must apply, and eligible family must lodge together with the student.

📅 Applications lodged before 2 October 2026 remain under the previous rules. These changes do not cancel your current Student visa.

The wrong ANZSCO code can refuse your 482 before anyone reads the rest of it. Check the occupation, the tasks listed under it, and the qualification requirements — before you lodge, not after.
