What Are Demerit Points?
🚓 Demerit points are penalties added to your driving record for committing certain traffic offences.
🚓 All drivers start with zero points.
Points are added when offences are committed, and these offences also carry fines.
🚓 Accumulating too many points can lead to licence suspension.
🚓 Points can be accrued nationwide, and offences committed outside NSW may still affect your NSW licence.
Nominating Another Person:
🚓If you weren’t driving when an offence occurred, you must nominate the actual driver.
🚓This ensures the correct person receives the fine and demerit points.
False or Misleading Information:
🚓 Providing false details when nominating someone can result in fines, licence restrictions, or criminal investigation.
🚓 You must not allow others to falsely nominate you for offences.
