TBT two years ago this week…

Our client was arrested and charged in dramatic scenes after he allegedly failed to comply with COVID-19 restrictions at Bondi Beach.

After we negotiated with the police, Mr Moskovich’s charges were dropped and the police paid his legal costs of $25,000.

We then sued the State of NSW on behalf of Mr Moskovich for wrongful arrest and malicious prosecution. The State eventually agreed to settle the case and paid our client $90,000

A great outcome in the Court of Criminal Appeal yesterday, where our client had his sentence reduced by 2 years. Special mention to April Francis, barrister.

A buff and tattooed member of an international drug syndicate has had three years shaved off his prison sentence because of the role an undercover officer played in inducing him to import 200kg of ecstasy into Sydney.

Another exceptional result by the team at Hanna Legal. Special mention to Will Tuckey, Barrister.

A significant victory for our client in the NSW Court of Appeal.

In August 2020, our client successfully sued the Bangladesh Islamic Centre in the NSW Supreme Court to recover hundreds of thousands of dollars that it owed him, largely for building costs that he had incurred at a mosque on land that it owned.

The Bangladesh Islamic Centre appealed the decision and applied to rely on further "evidence" in support.

Last Friday, the NSW Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal, holding, amongst other things, that there was no basis to conclude that the new evidence was credible.

Special thanks to the barristers, Awais Ahmad and Simon Grey, and to the entire team at Hanna Legal who assisted Nick Hanna with this matter for several years.

Another fantastic outcome in the Court of Criminal Appeal. On 6 September 2021, the Court of Criminal Appeal handed down its decision in the matter of Seifeddine v R [2021] NSWCCA 214.

On 25 July 2019, Mr Seifeddine was wrongfully convicted of a number of serious firearm offences in the District Court of New South Wales. In December 2019, he was sentenced to a term of imprisonment of 5 years and 6 months. Thereafter, he engaged Hanna Legal for the purpose of appealing against his conviction.

On 9 April 2021, the appeal against conviction was heard in the Court of Criminal Appeal. On the same date, the Court of Criminal Appeal allowed the appeal, quashed the convictions and directed that Mr Seifeddine be released from prison immediately.

Special mention to Peter Lange and Abbas Soukie.

An exceptional outcome in the State Parole Authority today. Following prolonged and complex litigation in the State Parole Authority, our client was today granted parole. Special mention to Abbas Soukie, solicitor, who appeared on our client's behalf.

A cold blooded killer — who emptied a handgun into his childhood mate for no reason — will walk free from prison on strict parole “imminently”.
