We're looking for solicitors who would like to give back to their profession by joining our Solicitor Mentoring Program.

This unique, peer-to-peer program goes beyond technical skill development, connecting solicitors with their more experienced contemporaries who can offer insight into the real-world challenges that can shape a practitioner's career and life.

Whether it’s navigating a transition to a new practice area, managing a legal career alongside chronic health conditions or family responsibilities, or even adjusting to the Australian profession after relocating from overseas, this program aims to connect mentees with mentors who have lived these experiences already and are ready to offer meaningful support and practical, first-hand guidance.

If you are a solicitor member of the Law Society of NSW with at least two years of post-admission experience, we encourage you to apply and be part of supporting solicitors earlier in their careers.

In a service profession that is infamous for tight deadlines, high pressure environments and extensive workloads, the concept of creating and maintaining boundaries can feel exhausting.

Even knowing how important healthy boundaries are, the legal profession can often drive solicitors to sacrifice unsustainably in pursuit of things like billable hours and reputational gain. In this session, we will address buzz phrases like “work-life balance” and how they relate to the reality of a legal career.

Explore the evidence base for setting firm boundaries, building habits that stick, and making decisions that align with personal values, morals, and ethics. Attendees will leave this session with practical resources and skills to build and sustain professional and personal boundaries as a solicitor.
