Michael is also on the register of Singapore Patent Agents and is an Australian Trade Marks Attorney, with over 20 years of experience working in IP firms across three continents. Prior to establishing Koch IP ® , Michael was a partner in a leading Australian IP firm and in a leading German IP firm, and he is currently a partner in Viering, Jentschura & Partner LLP in Singapore. Koch IP offers clients to avail themselves of Michael's extensive and multi-jurisdictional expertise in protecting their IP in Australia/New Zealand and internationally. Michael holds BSc/MSc degrees in physics from the Technische Universität München, Germany (Diplom Physiker), and was awarded his PhD in Semiconductor Technologies by the University of New South Wales in Sydney. Michael also holds a Master in Industrial Property from the University of Technology, Sydney. Michael is a Fellow of the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia (IPTA), a member of the Verein der deutschen Patentanwälte und Patentassessoren (VPP) (German association of patent attorneys and professionals), and a member ofthe German Australian Pacific Lawyers Association.
