ANZAC Day, observed on 25 April, is one of Australia’s most significant national days of reflection.

It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during WWI, and stands as a moment to honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who have served in all conflicts, past and present.

We now pause to remember their resilience, acknowledge the families who stand beside them, and reflect on the Australian values of mateship, endurance, and quiet bravery that continue to shape our national identity.

A practical shift for Parent visas is coming into effect on 22 April 2026. For the first time, a number of Parent visa subclasses will be available for online lodgement:
• Parent (Migrant) (Class AX)
• Aged Parent (Residence) (Class BP)
• Contributory Parent (Migrant) (Class CA)
• Contributory Aged Parent (Residence) (Class DG)

This is a welcome update. Moving these applications online should mean a more streamlined lodgement process, quicker submission times, and no need to rely on post or courier.

That said, not everything is shifting online.
Applications for:
• Contributory Parent (Temporary) (Class UT)
• Contributory Aged Parent (Temporary) (Class UU)
must still be lodged in paper form, via post or courier, using the approved form.

Want to bring your parent to Australia - we're happy to help!

We’re pleased to confirm that Refugee Advice & Casework Service ( ) will be joining our first Law Mentoring Coffee ‘N Chat ☕ session!

A meaningful addition!!

RACS is a non-profit organisation providing free legal assistance to refugees and people seeking asylum in Australia. Their work reflects the practical impact of law where it matters most, supporting individuals navigating complex and often high stakes circumstances.

They have shared their interest in connecting early with students and lawyers who want to make a difference. That aligns closely with what this series is designed to do.

These sessions are intentionally small and conversational. They are an opportunity to engage directly with practitioners, ask questions, and better understand where a legal career can take you.

If you are exploring your next step, or simply looking to stay connected to the broader purpose of legal practice, we encourage you to join us.

The Australian Government increased application fees for the Temporary Graduate visa. From 1 March 2026, the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) fee has jumped from $2,300 to $4,600 for most primary applicants.

A sharp increase, and one that directly affects post study planning.

If you are relying on this pathway, timing and strategy now matter more than ever.
