Gilbert + Tobin has launched its first Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan, marking the next step in our reconciliation journey.

Building on 15 years of learning, our Stretch RAP sets a clear path from June 2026 to June 2029 to address structural barriers, advance meaningful reform and strengthen practical, accountable action guided by First Nations leadership.

The RAP focuses on where we can make a real contribution as a law firm: access to justice, employment pathways, governance, procurement, cultural capability, treaty readiness, youth justice and First Nations leadership.

We marked the launch at our Perth office with a discussion featuring respected Noongar Elder and educator Emeritus Professor Simon Forrest, Jaru leader and business executive Vanessa Elliott AM, and former Minister for Indigenous Australians The Hon Ken Wyatt AM. Thank you also to Marshall McKenna for moderating the conversation and Danny Gilbert for his opening address.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the development of this RAP and to the leaders, advisers and community members helping shape the next chapter of our reconciliation journey.

📢 NSW CLERKSHIP APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN! 📢

Calling all penultimate and final year law students. Applications are now open for 2026-27 NSW Summer Clerkships.

Not all corporate law firms are the same. The only way to understand the work and culture is to experience it for yourself.

Our clerkships offer a unique chance to experience up to two practice areas in corporate law and learn from some of Australia’s most talented legal minds. In Sydney, we offer a summer clerkship with two 4-week rotations across two practice areas and the option to apply for the Aurora Internship, a fully funded 5- to 6-week winter internship. Clerkship rotations are available across all our practice areas, as well as our pro bono and innovation teams.

With a challenger mindset, Gilbert + Tobin is always pushing the status quo and taking a stand on things that matter.
