The Regional Presidents and the Councillors of the Law Society are in Orange for this month's meeting - with a focus on Access to Justice and Fit-for-purpose Courts. We had a fascinating tour of the Orange Courthouse yesterday, which is partly heritage listed but has also been sympathetically renovated with a smart and functional modern addition so it now has 3 courtrooms and a permanent sitting judge in the criminal jurisdiction. It is essential that ALL courthouses, and particularly the regional ones with the vast distances practitioners and the community often need to travel to attend, need to be up to date with all technology for streamlined legal processes and with safety and security for all attendees.
