Finally some good news for Accountants waiting for invitations. Although its at 80 point and with backlog, its comes as a relief to a lot of applicants who had lost hopes of getting invited.

The above figures do not include invitations issued for State and Territory Government nominated visa subclasses. State and Territory Governments nominate throughout the month for specific points tested skilled migration and business innovation and investment visas.

Increased Number of 485 Refusals due to Dual Degrees

We have come across many cases where the department is refusing 485 visas of students who have completed dual degrees concurrently. (Such as MBA and MPA together).

You can choose to go to AAT for review (the only option generally) or maybe able to get the decision revisted without going to the AAT.

Invitations issued on 12 July 2017 has shown that there are a lot of EOI's at 70 points or above for all pro-rata occupations. This means that anyone with a lower score needs to plan on increasing their scores or lose the opportunity to be invited to apply for the visa.

New Occupation Ceiling released for this program year.
Accountant are the biggest winner with their ceiling increased to 4785 this year.
With the decline in student visa applications- it does not come as a surprise as increasing the number of accountants is what keeps Australia the most favorite international education destination.
