ILLEGAL V**E RETAILERS UNDER FIRE

NSW Health has a raft of regulations governing for retailers of va**ng products and other products containing ni****ne. Under these regulations, it is illegal to:

1. sell e-cigarettes, e-cigarette accessories, and to***co products to anyone under 18 years old

2. sell e-cigarettes or e-liquids that contain ni****ne, including online sales, for retailers other than pharmacies

3. display, advertise or promote e-cigarettes

4. sell e-cigarettes that make a health claim, such as ‘this product helps smokers to quit.’

Heavy fines and criminal charges are not what you want!

A Canadian judge has ordered a farmer pay AUD$92,000 after ruling a “thumbs up emoji” he used in a text message exchange was just as valid as a signature.

Under the Fair Work Act, employees have new rights to challenge an employer’s decision to refuse a request for a flexible work arrangement.

Employers cannot refuse a request for a flexible work arrangement unless they have ‘genuinely tried to reach an agreement’ with the employee about the proposed working arrangements.

A range of considerations will be relevant to whether a flexible work arrangement can be refused. These considerations will include processes and policies about flexible work arrangements, the requirements of the business and the extent to which an employee’s personal circumstances have been considered.
