Brisbane One Of Australia's Cheaper Cities To Own A Home
Thought Brisbane's house prices were high? Well, it falls short in comparison to Sydney and Melbourne's rocketing house markets. Demographia’s International Housing Affordability 2022 Edition found Brisbane ranked as the 17th least affordable city for homeowners.
Sydney ( #2) took out the top spot for Australian cities, while Perth was named the cheapest Aussie city ranked 20 in the list.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong, which has a staggering house price to household income ratio of 23.2, took the crown as the world's least affordable city across the globe.

First Home Owner Grant requirement in short:
"If you purchase a newly built house, townhouse, apartment, unit or similar the purchase price must not exceed $600,000.

If you purchase vacant land and sign a building contract with a builder then we add the value of the vacant land plus the value of the building contract plus the cost of any building variations done together. The total combined cost must not exceed $750,000."
