They’ll tell you when you became “skilled.” If their dates are shorter than you claimed, don’t panic! Visa officers use ANZSCO (Australia’s job bible) to give you the BEST possible points.

⿢ Your Job MUST Match ANZSCO Duties
Example: If you’re a “Project Manager,” you need to prove you did tasks listed under ANZSCO—like budgeting and leading teams—not just generic office work.

⿣ SkillSelect vs. Reality
The EOI form (SkillSelect) tells you to follow the skills authority’s opinion strictly. BUT! Visa officers follow regulations, which are more flexible. They can use ANZSCO to award you extra points even if SkillSelect seems strict.

🔹 Get your skills assessment done FIRST – it’s non-negotiable!

Hey future students! 🎓 There’s been a recent change to how offshore student visas are processed for 2025. Here’s what this means for you and how to plan ahead:

🚨 What’s Changed?
If you’re applying from outside Australia for a Higher Education or Vocational Education course, your visa processing time may depend on how many students your institution has already accepted.
Priority Processing: Institutions that haven’t yet reached 80% of their international student quota for 2025 will have faster visa processing.

Slower Processing: Once an institution hits this 80% limit, visa applications for their courses will take longer.

Good news! Some courses are exempt from these limits, meaning visas for these are processed quickly no matter what:
✅ Schools (primary/secondary)
✅ Standalone English courses (ELICOS)
✅ Research degrees (e.g., PhD)
✅ Scholarships or programs for Pacific/Timor-Leste students
✅ Pilot training or transnational education (e.g., studying at an Australian university’s overseas campus).
💡 Tips for a Smooth Visa Process
Ask Your Institution: Check if your course/provider is close to their student quota. If they’re under 80%, apply ASAP for faster processing!
