At festivals or on the street if a Police Drug dog indicates the presence of drugs Police in NSW have the right to search you. What's wrong with that is in over 60% of cases the dogs are wrong. NSW Police have used this drug dog indication to undertake strip searches as well as pat downs and demands, and in the vast majority of cases despite the dehumanising indignity of the search no drugs are found. One girls story has been written about in the Herald.

NSW Police strip searched more than 80,000 people looking for drugs. Less than one in 10 were convicted of an offence.

Mushroom murder case press attention versus a finding of Institutional racism by NT Coroner Ms Elisabeth Armitage. An interesting perspective by Jess Harwood. Whether you agree with Jess Harwood or not this political cartoon is at the very least thought provoking. Took my breath away.

I think we need to stop obsessing over the mushroom murders and turn our attention to the NT coroner’s inquest report into the police shooting and death of Kumanjayi Walker by policeman Zach Rolfe
